Bug Description

If the device is in sleeping mode (puch button aside the volume controll button), the device drains battery in some cases:

There is weird behavior that i watched. It seems on BQ M10 devices OTA 10.1 that more apps that are opend (in tablet mode) the more power is drained from the battery. But this is not always. Its very weird.

To say that clearly: I have tested the effect in tablet mode. NOT in desktop mode. And with no monitor connected.

Here what i have done:
1. I started some apps: Youtube, ubuntufun.de, askubuntu, clock, webbrowser. All apps are not in forground.
2. The device has battery of 18% and it is 1:20 pm
2. I pressed the hardware button to set the device in "Bereitschaft" (German).

3. i pressed the hardware button to set the device back on.
4. Battery of 16% and it is 3:40 pm.

1% an hour is not terrible but more than would be expected.
What app is the last one to be in the foreground? I am wondering if an open webpage is causing continued activity somehow

What version was this observed on? We just fixed an issue with Wifi low power in the proposed image.

I tested it again on r109.

No app was running.
1. 13:00 pm, buttery 35%
2. Disable wlan.
3. Lock device. (pushing right top hardware button)
4. 16:21 pm, buttery 12%

Device is bq m10, r109

Testet it again after update: M10 FHD, r121 (No apps started at background)

With WLAN not active, and in sleeping mode active:
11:45 am, battery 87%
1:08 pm, battery 87%

With WLAN active and in sleeping mode active:
2:41 pm, battery 83%
That is 4% draining in 1,5 hours by WLAN in sleeping mode

@Pat McGowan: You said: "1% per hour is not terrible but more than would expected."
I think in sleeping mode with no processes running at the background, i expect 0% buttery draining.

@jonathan it will never be zero since it does wake up periodically to do some things, but you are right its too much.

When you say sleeping mode is active you mean on the wifi? I am wondering if the wifi power mode isnt working properly.

Please attach /var/log/syslog from when it was suspended

I am seeing 1+% per hour drain as well, that should be 1-2% per day

Since the last OTA my M10 battery is draining very fast. I leave it with full battery on sleep and in flight mode and within 12 hrs the battery is completely drained. Only app running was browser with one tab open.
