Bug Description

Using friends in 13.04, installed via `sudo apt-get install friends`

In recent versions of Ubuntu (prior to writing this) I was able to click the message icon (currently a snail mail icon) and update my status on Identi.ca (and others) from the menu.

Now, i cannot.

Please bring that feature back.

Thank you for your consideration.

Ken, we need to decide whether to do this in friends or friends-app. My first thought is for the app, but I haven't considered the issue fully just yet.

Is this still supported in unity8?

Linked it to Ubuntu UX as it needs design.

Also, I think this should not be linked to friends-app, but Unity8.

Also, I just realized that friends currently doesn't integrate with the global menu at all (this functionality is disabled in the code). So maybe this should be fixed first.

Hi,

could you please provide more details on the bug? From the title it seems you would like to reply to message from the indicator, but in the description you mention being able to change status.

Thanks

Hi Daniela,

When I speak of "updating my status" it simply means "writing a tweet" or "posting." If that was possible then the feature would be resolved from my point of view; the submitter.

All the best.
