Jeremy, thanks for answering. Here is your requested info (server side): --------------------0------------------- nelson@nelson-desktop:~$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 Codename: karmic -------------------0--------------------- nelson@nelson-desktop:~$ uname -a Linux nelson-desktop 2.6.31-16-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 8 04:01:29 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux -------------------0--------------------- nelson@nelson-desktop:~$ sudo lshw *-display description: VGA compatible controller product: 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2 bus info: pci@0000:00:02.0 version: 02 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: msi pm bus_master cap_list rom configuration: driver=i915 latency=0 resources: irq:16 memory:fea80000-feafffff ioport:dc00(size=8) memory:d0000000-dfffffff(prefetchable) memory:fea40000-fea7ffff -----------------------0-------------------- nelson@nelson-desktop:~$ nxserver --help NXSERVER - Version 3.2.0-74-SVN OS (GPL, using backend: 3.3.0) ------------------------0------------------- Using Gnome 2.28.1 Using 32 bit version PPA repo: http://ppa.launchpad.net/freenx-team/ppa/ubuntu Upon local login, machine works fine, all window borders and decorations are present (Metacity). Tested with and without compiz on both server and clients, with 3 different clients (2 running Karmic Gnome and 1 running Jaunty Gnome) and nomachines's nxclient 3.4.0-5. Tried different combinations of the configurations in nxclient connection dialog to no avail. If it's of any help, I removed-purged everything associated with freenx and installed Nomachine's version of nxclient, nxnode and nxserver to compare results, and get the same problem, so I can presume the fault is not directly related to freenx. Maybe the problem resides in ssh's x11Forwarding but I cant see anything wrong with that section of /etc/ssh/sshd_config: X11Forwarding yes X11DisplayOffset 10 PrintMotd no PrintLastLog yes TCPKeepAlive yes ...VNC (vino+vinagre) works ok... but slow, as always. SSH console logins, sftp and mounts with sshfs all are 100% operative. Local network is 10/100 Ethernet, wired. Can upload screenshot upon request. I'll update the bug report in Launchpad with this new info as soon as possible. Thanks again... Nelson 2009/12/31 Jeremy Wilkins
