"Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances
Lecture des informations d'état... Fait
E: Impossible de trouver le paquet freefilesync"

Hello

Same issue here with Kubuntu 14.10 (64bits).

I can't download the packages, I have an "404 Not Found" error for both

http://ppa.launchpad.net/freefilesync/ffs/ubuntu/dists/utopic/main/binary-i386/Packages
AND
http://ppa.launchpad.net/freefilesync/ffs/ubuntu/dists/utopic/main/binary-amd64/Packages

Is it still possible to download with "ppa:freefilesync//ffs" ?

Thanks
C

The precompiled version from http://www.freefilesync.org/ will work on Ubuntu 14.10 (64-bit)

There's really not much to do here: Just start the "FreeFileSync" binary after extracting the archive somewhere.

Workaround.... in Synaptic, Settings/Repositories/Other Software tab, find the lines for freefilesync (I have two lines, one for binary, one for source). Edit each of these entries, and change the "Distribution" field from "utopic" to "trusty".

Here is also a temporary workaround in another form ;-)

1) Create a file named, for example:

/etc/apt/sources.list.d/FreeFileSync.list

2) Enter the following line in that file:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/freefilesync/ffs/ubuntu trusty main #FreeFileSync

3) And finally enter the usual commands:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

NOTE: The point is that the package created for Ubuntu Trusty works with others as well...
Let's hope that the good developer of this superb utility will have time to adapt it to later versions of Ubuntu as well...
