Bug Description

Hi, I want to plot three other locations on my map (which I will receive through other users in a text file and will also send my own location to those users)....Foxtrotgps currently has the "show friends" feature which looks like it is supposed to perform the same functionality. But when I go in the "friends" menu, it asks me to register first and then gives an error when I try doing so...It says: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>404 Not Found</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Not Found</h1>
<p>The requested URL /friends.html/register_nick.php was not found on this server.</p>
<hr>
<address>Apache/2.2.17 (Ubuntu) Server at www.tangogps.org Port 80</address>
</body></html>

Why am I receiving this error . How will it be corrected?

We don't have source code for the server part that runs at tangogps.org so we can't do much about this unfortunately. Somebody would need to reimplement this from scratch.

I need the locations to be read from a text file and not any server. And has to be done offline. Is this what I have to use? I mean should I convert this xml into a C code?

`offline and read from text file' sounds a lot less dynamic
than what the friend-finder is supposed to be; actually,
it sounds a lot like the POI display might fit your
requirements--would it? A number of users have already
written scripts that read data from different sources
and write entries for them into the POI database.

If POIs aren't what you're looking for, could you explain
how you'd need it to be different?
