Bug Description

Footnote was just recently updated. In the update, it deleted my old notes and now does not allow me to create new ones.

Your notes (most probably) haven't been deleted. They are still there but not listed since their structure doesn't fit the updated one. If you've got data amongst your old notes that you don't want to loose, you can install sqlitebrowser (sudo apt-get install sqlitebrowser) and open the file /home/your_username/.local/share/footnote/notes.db with it (since the folder is hidden you may have to press ctrl+h in your filemanager and then drag and drop the file in sqlitebrowser). If you then go to the "Browse Data" tab and select the "notes" Table below from the dropdownlist, it will show you all the records and allow you to copy important things by double clicking on the content field of one of the notes. When you are ready, delete the old databse file and footnote will create an updated one for you. Sorry for the inconvenience
