Bug Description

I've used Kazehakase browser for 2 months. It works well and starts quickly, but I was very annoyed by one thing: it works VERY SLOW when switching between tabs and when typing url in address bar. Also, working with a big number of tabs is inconvenient, because not all of them are displayed on screen.
I've installed Firefox package from repository (without package with Ubuntu additions for it). It starts up slowlier, but it works really faster in this cases. Also I enjoyed my favourite Firefox addons which I used in windows.

Hello,

Can you try disabling the inline autocomplete in Kazehakase? We actually found out the that is what was causing 90% of the slow down.

hello,
if you liked firefox have you ever considered using Swiftfox? Its a perfect addition for the avid Firefox user. Its strickly made for Linux and builts are made processor specific. Taken from http://getswiftfox.com/installer.htm:

"Swiftfox is an optimized build of Mozilla Firefox. Swiftfox has builds for both AMD and Intel processors and is based on the most cutting edge Firefox source code available."

Worked well with all my extensions and add-ons. I've been using it in Fluxbuntu with a P2 350Mhz, 640MB RAM, and a 6.4GB HDD and it loves both of em.

IMHO, I would love to see Swiftfox replace Kazehakase

Many Blessings

Yes, Swiftfox is a great thing! it hasn't locale support yet, but my favourite extensions and Java VM work well. I'll use it, thanx!

Ah, I hadn't heard of Swiftfox, but even the regular Firefox is faster and just better than Kazehakase, which can't even spell, and this is on very limited hardware (366MHz processor, 186MB memory).

Swiftweasel is an OSS version of Swiftfox. Basically, it's the Iceweasel OSS implementation of Firefox with many of the same optimizations that are made to produce Swiftfox, only this one is open source. .deb packages are on sourceforge.net

+1 for Firefox 3 in Fluxbuntu (or Swiftweasel)
Swiftweasel going to 3.0 milestone :

Firefox 3 engine is known to have less memory footprint than previous releases:
