Bug Description

I am using Finnix 111, following the procedure for remastering the CD.

To cut down on CD drive I/O, I've booted Finnix with the "toram" option.

I see that there is a copy of the contents of the CD under /media/ramdisk/cd_base/, which is quite convenient. Unfortunately, this copy is not complete. If I compare what's under there with a mounted CD, I get this:

    # diff -r /media/sr0 /media/ramdisk/cd_base
    Only in /media/sr0/boot/x86: boot.cat
    Only in /media/sr0: isolinux.bin

These two files are less than 50 kB combined, so their absence from cd_base appears to be an oversight.

I forgot to mention, the reason why these two missing files are an issue in the first place is that finnix-build-stage2 errors out with

    Required boot file missing: isolinux.bin

when /srv/finnix/build/master/ is populated from cd_base.

I can get isolinux.bin from /usr/lib/ISOLINUX/ in the running system, but boot.cat can only be found on the mounted CD.

Sorry for the delay; I didn't realize bugs were being submitted here. Nonetheless, thank you for your report! For more details on recent developments, please see https://blog.finnix.org/2020/05/19/behind-the-scenes-of-finnix-120/ .

Closing, as Finnix 120 no longer supports remastering (see above for how you can create a custom debian-live image).
