Bug Description
Binary package hint: synergy
Synergy server 1.3.1 on Windows XP (where the keyboard and mouse are)
Synergyc client 1.3.1-2ubuntu2 on Ubuntu Hardy beta (kernel 2.6.24-15-generic)
VMware Server and server console 1.0.5 build-80187 install on the Ubuntu machine
When controlling the Ubuntu machine with the keyboard and mouse of the Windows machine via Synaptic, all works fine.
But when controlling a vmware image inside the Ubuntu machine, the Shift and Ctrl keys of the keyboard do not work. And when Caps lock is on, no other key is working.
When accessing the vmware image with the keyboard connected directly to the Ubuntu machine, it works fine.
The workaround, in this forum, is to use win2vnc and x11vnc instead of Synaptic:

This is also reported in the vmware forum:
http://
And there are two bugs those this on the Synaptic bugtracker on Sourceforge.
[1545361] VMware hack does not alway work
and:
[ 1101403 ] Strange keyboard behavior inside a vmware guest
I am linking this bug against upstream 1545361 because it has a patch that seems to fix the problem
