Bug Description
I've attached a .qif file that was created in Financisto version 1.6.2 on my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone (Android 4.0.4). It contains two split transactions - each transactions has two items.
When I import the .qif file into Quicken Personal Plus 2007 R1 (Australia) the memos associated with each of the items in the split transaction are not imported into Quicken correctly. The memo for the FIRST split item is imported into the second item and the memo for the SECOND split item is dropped completely. See the attached screenshot. This screenshot has two images - one shows the Quicken Split Transaction dialog box with the "bad" .qif file import and reflects the missing memos.
The second image shows the "good" .qif file with the correct memos for each category.
My usual workflow is:
- During the day I capture my split transactions in Financisto on my smartphone.
- In the evening I export the transactions to a .qif file. Financisto puts the file onto DropBox.
- I open Quicken on my desktop computer and import the .qif file into Quicken.
- When I check the split transaction the memos are not imported correctly (as described above).
I managed to find a way to "fix" the .qif file that Financisto generates before I import it into Quicken:
Financisto generates the "bad" .qif file like this:
!Type:Cash
D25/10/2012
T-24.00
PRoyalMnandi Trolley
SFood:Sandwich
$-11.50
EHam, cheese & tomato
SFood:Drinks:
$-12.50
ECoke 500ml
^
The "E" code is the Split memo - the text to go with this split item.
The "$" code is the amount for this split of the item.
To get the split memos to import correctly into Quicken I MOVE the "$" code and data AFTER the "E" code and data, so the above becomes:
!Type:Cash
D25/10/2012
T-24.00
PRoyalMnandi Trolley
SFood:Sandwich
EHam, cheese & tomato
$-11.50
SFood:Drinks:
ECoke 500ml
$-12.50
^
This solves the problem. When the .qif file contains the "S", "E" and "$" codes IN THAT ORDER the .qif file is imported into Quicken successfully.
Is it possible to get Financisto to generate the codes in the above working order when a .qif file is created, i.e.:
SFood:Drinks:
ECoke 500ml
$-12.50
^
instead of:
SFood:Drinks:
$-12.50
ECoke 500ml
^
"$" must be after "E".
Thanks.
Attached is a "patched" .qif file that imports into Quicken correctly. The items in the file are in this order:
SFood:Drinks: Coldrink
ELipton Ice Tea 500ml
$-12.50
