Bug Description

since the last few days (latest update, Ubuntu 11.10), it is now impossible to play ogv using ffmpeg (ffplay or mplayer) but still possible with totem.

It seems that the ogv file contains errors. I get no such errors with ogv from other sources than recordmydesktop.

I attached the generated ogv file, and 3 captures from playback (ffplay, mplayer, totem).

gtk-recordmydesktop is 0.3.8-3ubuntu5
recordmydesktop is 0.3.8.1+svn602-1ubuntu3

ffmpeg is 4:0.7.3-0ubuntu0.11.10.1
mplayer is 2:1.0~rc4.dfsg1+svn33713-1
totem is 3.0.1-0ubuntu7.1

My library version are:

libtheora.so.0.3.10
libtheoraenc.so.1.1.2
libtheoradec.so.1.1.4

I use recordmydesktop everyday and this problems makes it 100% unusable in my case.

Sincerely,

It turns out I installed the latest ffmpeg from the git repository and the problem is gone.

I guess this was an ffmpeg problem after all.

But it is fixed in 12.04. Tried it with LiveCD in virtualbox.
