please backport xserver-xorg-video-openchrome

a lot of people are having problems with the xserver-xorg-video-unichrome driver (see the list of "unsopported chipset" bugs in launchpad). most of these problems can be fixed by backporting the openchrome driver.

Is it possible to get 64bit packages, the deb files wont be installed since they are i386, and i am running 64bit (7.04)

Before this can be approved, the test failure will have to be resolved. Also the Ubuntu X maintainers should weigh in on this.

The test build worked fine and installed fine on my machine. As for that hardware you tested, are you positive it was supposed to be supported by openchrome? You didn't post lspci, and based upon that error log there is still a possibility that you had the wrong PCI ID listed in xorg.conf that you posted.

gutsy and feisty have the same version, 1:0.2.6.99-0ubuntu1

That's true for xserver-xorg-video-unichrome. The backport request is for xserver-xorg-video-openchrome 0.2.6+svn357-0ubuntu1 which is a new package to Gutsy that does not exist in Feisty.
