Bug Description

I am using kubuntu feisty fawn. The package "hal" and other related packages have been backported in feisty, to version 0.5.9. However, these packages do not contain the initscript used to control hal -

rohan@ubuntu:~$ ls /etc/init.d/hal
ls: /etc/init.d/hal: No such file or directory

This file exists in both gutsy and feisty (the hal 0.5.8 package in feisty). Also, I think this might be related - whenever I try to use hwdb (Kubuntu Hardware Database) it always shows an 'interim page' on the website - http://hwdb.ubuntu.com/?xml=95fa009ef390709fc17a743cc38d5942 and http://hwdb.ubuntu.com/?xml=4eebe92a8e973ae9122d74f6e476d5eb

Hardware database entries made using the Kubuntu Live Cd are perfect.

As gnomefreak told me, the initscript does not exist on feisty. Also, testing the live cd, indeed, there is no initscript. Sorry, my mistake .. Marking the bug as invalid.
