Hi,
enabling support for tmpfs on an up-to-date kernel seems to be as easy as #undef-ing FAN_REPORT_FID at the start of fatrace.c. Naturally this disables the features associated with FAN_REPORT_FID so it's not a fix but merely supposed to show that fatrace is basically able to report tmpfs access.
Maybe a solution would be to create two fanotify instances, one with FAN_REPORT_FID and one without, and to use the second one to watch tmpfs.
