Using inventory operations while in a store crashes with the following as part of the crash log:
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.

Can't replicate this in linux - will get to it when I have better access to OS X.
