Bug Description

exo-open fails to open certain directories on my file system, namely those with email addresses in their names. If I run exo-open /home/forest/foo, it correctly opens a Thunar window to that directory. If I run exo-open /<email address hidden>, it launches my email program, which (of course) fails to do anything useful.

I noticed this because it seems to be the cause of Ubuntu's Tracker search tool failing to open my jabber (google talk) message log directories, which are created by pidgin.

This is on ubuntu hardy, libexo-0.3-0.

The attached patch fixes the problem for me. I've reported the patch upstream.

This bug was fixed in the package exo - 0.3.4-7ubuntu4

---------------
exo (0.3.4-7ubuntu4) intrepid; urgency=low

  * Added debian/patches/04_fix_broken_regexp.patch:
    - Add ^ and $ to url expressions to prevent exo from mistaking a
      directory as an e-mail address and opening the wrong helper application.
    - Closes lp: #262125
    - Kudos to Jannis Pohlmann for the patch.
