Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
 * insert a video cd/dvd or data cd/dvd into the drive
 * close the tray
 * close the Thunar window that opens
 * press the "eject" button on the drive

Result: a popup message stating:
Failed to eject "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_CD_RW_CRX880A".
Given Device "/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/storage_model_CD_RW_CRX880A" is not a volume or drive

But the music cd can eject using button.

This issue should be fixed in exo 0.3.4-3ubuntu3~ppa1 available in my ppa (https://launchpad.net/~mrpouit/+archive). Could you confirm (the drive of my laptop doesn't have any button unfortunately)?
Thanks.

Are you getting the error messages as stated in the original report? If not, please close this again and comment instead on bug 309230, filed for Jaunty not ejecting and not giving error messages.

Thanks in advance.

Will this bug ever be fixed?? It has, after all, been open for over a year...

Here is a workaround for Mythbuntu users anyway:

Finally...I won't have to keep a mouse plugged into the system to get rid of the pop-up! :-)

Hi Austriaco
As a workaround I can suggest you to make a keyboard shortcut (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+E) to command "eject". At least it works for me in Jaunty
