Bug Description

CD playback doesn't work at all for me. The is no Audio CD tab on the left side. When I insert CD, nothing happens. If I try to open track manually from Nautilus, I get the "No URI handler implemented for "cdda"" error.

I'm using Fedora 16 with RPMFusion, all gstreamer plugins are installed. And of course, Audio CD plugin is enabled.
In other players, such as Banshee, CD playing works fine.

My initial instinct is that there are probably two separate issues here:
 - Nothing happening when the cd is inserted sounds like HAL is not operational. You can verify this by starting exaile in a terminal, and checking the message on startup for "Failed to connect to HAL" or "Connected to HAL", indicating the presence or non-presence of HAL respectively. This is unfortunately a common problem on modern distros since HAL is deprecated and most software has moved to other solutions like UDisks, GVFS, and udev, while we have not yet (it is planned, however). For the time being you need to install and enable HAL in your distro to get device detection in Exaile.
 - No handler for cdda sounds like a missing gstreamer plugin, or a corrupt gst plugin index. You can check whether gst is able to see the cdda plugin(s) with "gst-inspect-0.10 | grep cdda". On a gstreamer system with all plugins, this should mention at least cdiocddasrc and cdparanoiasrc. If those are missing, either you didn't actually install all the plugins, or your gstreamer install is corrupt and needs to be removed and reinstalled.

Aren,
Thanks for the fast answer.

1. Well, it's not a big problem since I can manually set opening Exaile as a default action for inserting Audio CD's in GNOME. HAL is not available in Fedora 16 at all, so I don't think there's another possible solution. And by the way, I get no errors about HAL in console even after inserting CD.
2. The output in console looks like this:
gst-inspect-0.10 | grep cdda
cdparanoia: cdparanoiasrc: CD Audio (cdda) Source, Paranoia IV
cdio: cdiocddasrc: CD audio source (CDDA)

So I guess my gstreamer install is fine... or am I missing something?
