Bug Description
I always found the Files panel keyboard navigation a bit cumbersome, as I always thought the only way to go up a level is to click the go-up-icon. Now when I actually checked the code to add my beloved Backspace-binding I realised that there was a key binding for that all along: Alt+UP. (This actually only made me realize that this Alt+Arrow thing actually also works in Nautilus, amazing.)
Anyway, I think even though there is a key binding for that, it still is a good idea to additionally bind Backspace to going up a level, as this is a default behaviour in Nautilus as well - and hence imho user-expected behaviour.

Does Backspace in Nautilus go up or go back? In Thunar it's go back, but in the GTK+ file dialog it's go up.
