Running Random Mode

The problem stemmed from my over use of the "100 random songs" playlist, which I always trawl before pressing play, to remove the ones I know I wont want to listen to, and the fact that once a list is played, I do the exact same thing again.

Possible options would be pull down boxes to limit randomly chosen music (by genre, rating, etc) and the collection browser on the left to add a song you really feel like listening to..."

Yeah, I'd love that. Amarok 1.4 has this thing, that you can have playlists like this. They combine it with normal and intelligent playlists (plays randomly choosing the songs from the playlists).

itunes has this same feature, though I believe it also keeps the last 5 songs at the top of the queue slightly grayed out

if this was to be implemented, could this be done as a plugin or is it an exaile framework thing?

i like the idea too. it's one of the most features i miss in exaile.

It would likely have to be done in core. However, it could be designed so that it could be extended by plugins.
