Bug Description

The Global Hotkeys plugin does not work when using Compiz Fusion and Metacity. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just hasn't been implemented yet.

Though it should be implemented by default but, you can directly configure it using ccsm (compiz configuration manager).

You can manually configure keys for running commands.
commands are like this,
exaile -p for previous song
exaile -n for next song
exaile -t for play/pause

Global hot keys should see what is default window manager, if compiz then apply settings in apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options in gconf

Thanks for the tip, but the problem with configuring the keybindings from ccsm is that if exaile is not started it will start when I press whatever multimedia keys, and I prefer the tipical behauvior: the global hotkeys work only when the application is launched (of course, I can make a script to decide if exaile is launched or not before running the command, but it should be better if the keybindings were in exaile itself).

Same problem here, but there's a workaround (at least works for me): System > Preferences > Shortcuts! For some reason, these key combination go directly to Exaile.
