Bug Description
Ubuntu 8.04, Evolution 2.22.3.1 -- Judging from the number of reports on POP password management under Evolution, this is a weakness in the implementation. As a software developer of some 35 years experience, I find myself amazed that some knowledgeable developer hasn't picked this up to fix it. This bug report is to request, in the strongest possible terms, that there be some kind of password reset mechanism for POP accounts that really works, and is as obvious as the password reset for Launchpad, which I just used to submit this bug report. The reason I need to do this is that I want to change the account passwords on the POP server periodically to lessen the probability of hacking. I thank all of you, collectively, for your attention to this and I hope to see this addressed ASAP with a rational fix.
