Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

VERSION: Ubuntu 9.04, Evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu2

PROBLEM: I have a dark GTK theme running in GNOME, which uses white text on black backgrounds. When receiving HTML email, I sometimes find that it's been formatted such that it's using the default color (white) but is on top of a white background or background image, which makes it impossible to read.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: Choosing a dark system theme should not make emails impossible to read.

PROPOSED SOLUTION: Unsure! I'm considering using Greasemonkey scripts to work around this problem in Epiphany (see bug #288628, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/epiphany-browser/+bug/288628 ).

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04
Package: evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
ProcEnviron:
 LANG=en_US.UTF-8
 SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: evolution
Uname: Linux 2.6.28-12-generic x86_64

Thank you for your bug report. The ubuntu team doesn't have the ressources to work on this specific issue but it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Um, sorry ... I filed a report there, but I wasn't sure how to use their system, and they told me the report that I sent was misfiled or something. I don't know what happened to it, and I think it got discarded.

Having a way to specify your own CSS stylesheet for html mails might solve this problem.
