For information, in the setup wizard I enter my Gmail address, and Evolution configures the IMAP and SMTP servers automatically. But, when Evolution's main window appears, no account is configured. If, then, I go to preferences, and setup my Gmail account again, the setup wizard appears, automatically configures my account, but no account is added to the list of accounts.

no longer affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu)

I'm a bit shocked to see that I'm the only one reporting such a very obvious bug... Is noone using Evolution in Ubuntu anymore?

Julien - this affects me as well and makes Evolution nigh unusable, obviously. I don't know why it's not getting more attention, though I suspect it may be because it's not included in any Ubuntu flavors by default. But considering how well it integrates with Gnome/Gnome Shell, it would be nice to get fixed.

This bug effects more than just gmail accounts. I've compiled Evolution 3.4.4 from source for the groupwise plugin (yes we still use Groupwise at work stop laughing). After upgrading to Quantal, I'm experience this same issue. I just set the whole thing up then created a backup and restore from backup on every launch now.

This is a duplicate bug, and there was a fix submitted for the .deb version that is available with Quantal, but that only fixes that version. My workaround was to run ./configure with the --enable-goa=no switch as the bug fix for the .deb revolved around the Gnome Online Accounts. Maybe this will be helpful for others.
