Bug Description

I believe the OPAC search fails in the latest 1.6 release for Firefox 3.5.5, I have checked this on our test installation http://egplay.mnpals.net/ and the Evergreen development team test installation http://acq.open-ils.org/ This poroblem does not seem to affect the Evergreen IN 1.6 installation (pre-official release?) http://evergreen.lib.in.us/

Browser: Firefox 3.5.5
OS: Ubuntu Karmic Koala

Evergreen 1.6.0.0

I can search on your test server just fine, FF3.7a1 nightly. Was there something specific I should be trying, or a specific failure mode you noticed?

I just tested on FF3.5.5 on Karmic, and it seems to be working correctly for me as well. Which parts seem to be failing for you? Any errors in the JavaScript Console or Firebug (if you have it installed)?

Once I entered a search term say "War" it would start rendering the results page and then pop me back to the main page. It probably was just my installation of FF as you suggest, I will check again and report back tomorrow. Thanks!

Actually, that's been known to happen from time to time, and it has to do with authentication cookie handling. If you delete the ses cookie for the domain serving your OPAC, all should be well.

Unfortunately, I don't think we have a resolution to that issue yet, but this is a good datapoint. Thanks for reporting it, and let us know if it is, indeed, the cookie issue.

Confirmed that it is the session cookie for the domain serving your OPAC, and all is now well.

I'm going to set this to "In Progress" and leave it open, I have put in a FAQ entry with reference to this issue.

Closing this and opening new bug about auth session cookies, then marking dupe to bury.
