MARC Flat Text editor does not auto-complete fields once record is created

Bug Description

Observed in version 3.12.1

The MARC Flat Text editor has a useful very simple function that autocompletes the MARC fields that are added by hand in the editor.

For example if one types "084" and hits TAB, the editor automatically transforms the line into "=084 \\$a" which is quite handy if a librarian prefers to write in fields by hand.

In the newer version of the Staff Client, though, this function is not working anymore when one goes to the Flat-Text editor in the MARC Edit tab of an existing record, it only works at record creation.

Hi Rietveld - can you please clarify that this had been working PRIOR to 3.12.1, and is now NOT working in 3.12.1?

Thanks!

Hello Andrea,
Thank you for the response, indeed it was not so clear!

I am not able to tell when this stopped working as we just jumped from version 3.2 to version 3.12.. But I suspect it relates with the porting of marcedit.js to the AngularJS Staff Client.

PRIOR To 3.12.1 (not sure when it stopped working):
When editing an existing MARC record, and switching to the Flat Text editor tab, the marcedit.js did some useful autocompletion of MARC fields.

This does NOT happen anymore in 3.12.1.
Interestingly, though, when creating a new MARC record, this function is still working ( the url points to /eg/ when creating a new MARC record, while it points to /eg2/ when editing an existing one. So I guess still working in the older version of the MARC editor?).

Hi all,

I just tested this in 3.7.4. This works in Cataloging > Create New MARC Record. It does not work when editing an existing record, so it's been happening at least at least that long. I don't know about earlier.

I also saw the URL difference (/eg/ vs /eg2/) mentioned by Rietveld.
