Reapplying a holdings template with an item alert or item note creates duplicate alerts and/or notes

EG 3.10.3
In the holdings editor, if you apply an item template to an item more than once, and the template contains an item note and/or an item alert, the item note and/or alert will be assigned to that item multiple times. When the item is checked in or out, the alert screen will only display once, but will show the same alert multiple times. If the item note is public, it will display multiple times in the catalog. This issue affects both the old holdings editor and the angular holdings editor. However, only alerts are duplicated in items added/edited in the angular holdings editor. Item notes cannot be applied to items via templates in the angular holdings editor. See: https:/
The development described in bug 2074112 is doing work in this area which may resolve this.
