We were looking to improve on a staff workflow for creating accounts and renewing accounts that needed a replacement card from our website registration form. We are currently handling registrations/renewals manually by sending the form results via email to certain staff at one branch for our system. Then staff that are assigned to the task work on them one at a time as they have time.

We send the patron's physical card in the mail as a way of verifying their address.

So we needed a way to create a welcome print letter for the patrons that were registered by staff only from the online form data in a decentralized way. A mail merge was possible, but increased the number of steps and required extra data entry.

So we noticed that in the patron record there is a print button next to each address that uses the patron_address angularjs print template to generate an address label. It was simple to setup that template to generate our welcome letter instead of an address label. But then we also wanted to have the same process for a renewal letter that was slightly different.

So I'm envisioning an interface to setup an arbitrary number of easy to trigger on demand print templates for whatever purpose might be needed.

Here is our local change that copies how the print button works to add two new options for letter templates.
