While doing some analysis for a consortium today, it occurred to me that it might be handy to be able to store random information about organizational units to assist with reporting. This could use controlled (or semi-controlled) vocabularies similar to patron/item statistical categories or fund tags.

Examples of things you might store using such a system:

- go-live date
- courier code
- Carnegie code
- director's name

Library settings already have many of the right semantics, so this wishlist alternatively could be about adding ways to more conveniently manage and report on local library settings.
