Bug Description
When viewing a record in the the stock OPAC the following columns appear in the copy table, in the following order:
1. Location
2. Call Number / Copy Notes
3. [Part] (if applicable)
3. Barcode
4. Shelving Location
5. Status
6. Due Date
(There are additional columns that show only if particular features are enable or only for staff, but these are the basics.) This is true in Evergreen 3-7-3 as well as many past and newer versions.
This column order is unintuitive and confusing because the information necessary to find materials is out of order and non-adjacent. The stock OPAC should have the following columns adjacent and in this order:
1. Location
2. Shelving Location
3. Call Number / Copy Notes
4. [Part] (if applicable)
5. Barcode
This is the logical order, corresponding to the following procedure as performed by patrons:
1. Travel to the correct location (i.e. library–should we rename that?)
2. Move to the right shelving location
3. Find the materials in this shelving location with the given call number
4. If necessary, select an item from among them that has the desired part
Staff may sometimes take an additional 5th step:
5. Amongst these items, find the one with the matching barcode
