Bug Description

The public and staff catalog has a checkbox to Exclude Electronic Resources from search results, which is often useful, but we would also like to see an option for the other situation, where the user wants to limit to electronic resources. This would be useful for users who prefer electronic resources, during periods where the library is closed or when the user is unable to get to the library for whatever reason, including distance learners.

The wording for these options might be easier to understand in this format: Limit to Physical Items and Limit to Electronic Items and these would need to be set up as radio buttons.

We would also need a third option so folks could choose to apply neither limit–this makes me think that a drop down menu might be a better choice than radio buttons.

Sorry, I should have been clearer here -- I mentioned radio buttons because we need to make sure that the user can't accidentally check both. I don't know if buttons or a dropdown work better here, but the functional consideration is that the user can make no selection or either selection, but not both selections!

It would be helpful for the chosen setting to be sticky so the user doesn't have to keep making that selection for each subsequent search.

We're using search indexes for downloadable audiobooks, downloadable ebooks, downloadable magazines, downloadable music, and downloadable videos. An "electronics only" box would allow the search to retrieve all downloadable media without having to be limited to a single format.
