Fixed fields in angular enhanced MARC Editor do not hold a value if 008 is not present

Hello all,

In the Enhanced MARC editor, the field labeled "Srce" (and others - SpFm) disappear when you navigate to other fields. The value in the Srce field will not save.

Have you experienced this and do you have any advice?

What version of Evergreen are you using?

We just experienced this in version 3.7.1. My supposition is that it had to do with a 008 tag not being established in the MARC. By establishing a 008 using the flat text editor (I didn't try doing it in the enhanced editor, but probably should have) and saving the record (there must be a value in the 008 tag), it provided a place for the fixed field editor to write the information into the MARC.
