Facets occasionally vanish on series search

I've tested this in 3.7 and 3.8

When logged into the staff side, Cataloging > Search The Catalog,

Doing a series search occasionally will cause all the facets on the left side of the screen to vanish.

This does not happen all of the time and I am having trouble figuring out a main cause. To test, do a series search, then wait about 5-10 seconds and the facets will all disappear.

This does not happen on every search, nor even the same search so it doesn't seem to be directly related to the output of the search, but I have not been able to make it happen so far on any search type other than "series".

This may have just been a coincidence, but if I typed in a nonsense term, such as ‘asdf’ and no records were found, and then I tried a legitimate search, the facets for the legitimate search would display for a few seconds and then disappear. But I can confirm that for some series searches, the facets disappear.
