Bug Description
Evergreen 3.8
Often when libraries are implementing an emergency closing (Admin -> Local Admin -> Closed Dates Editor) they don't actually want all of their items to be due back on the day they re-open. It would be useful if there was an option to enter a buffer period to push the due dates past the re-opening date.
For example, a library has a flood and has to close from January 6th to January 23rd. The library re-opens on January 24th and staff are inundated by 3 weeks worth of returns on their first day back.
If there was a way to enter a buffer period the library could be marked closed January 6th to January 23rd with a 7 day buffer period so the due dates are pushed to January 31st instead of January 24th giving patrons a longer period where the library is open and they can return their items before the due date.
As a workaround you could put in the later date for the emergency closure end date and then edit the period to the actual closing after the emergency process has been processed but it would be nice to have a more obvious way to handle this.
