3.7 Patron View tab links not working

Bug Description

In Evergreen v3.7, in the 'Patron View' tab, the only link that seems to function is the 'edit' link. Without the links, staff has to navigate to the Item Table or the new Patron View button to be able to place copy holds, view more information about a specific barcode, add the item to a basket, or view other formats.

The links do all work in the newly added Patron View Button above the tabs bar.

I'm using Chrome Version 94.0.4606.81.

I'm looking at a 3.8ish test server and I no longer see the Patron View tab - I'm pretty sure I recall seeing that it was going to be removed once the new button was available, so I'm tempted to mark this one "Won't Fix" but I can't seem to find the other bug about it in Launchpad right now.

Hi Claire,

I'm confirming the behavior you see on 3.7. I thought there was a separate bug reported for this already, but I cannot locate it. With the introduction of the Patron View button, I'm wondering if this tab is now redundant/ no loner needed.

Bug 1910452 addressed this issue by removing the "Patron View" tab and adding a "Patron View" button that opens the public view of the OPAC in a new tab. This fix is in 3.8.

Since this fix, however, we've realized that removing the tab means that staff users lose the ability to set the patron view as their default view for the staff catalog. This is important for public services staff as they assist patrons.

@Michele Morgan That's the main place it's an issue for us; our public service staff use the 'Patron View' to be able to see the cover and details about the title, but then have to navigate away from that page to be able to perform any actions with the title or copy.
