Wish List: Ability to embed carousels into external web pages

In PINES we've set up "New Items" carousels for every branch and system in our consortium, and we've had numerous requests from libraries to be able to embed those carousels into their web pages.

One idea I've had is to simply allow the carousels to be accessible on an otherwise blank page so that the page can be embedded with an iframe into any of the library web sites. I am interested in other ideas on ways this type of thing could be done.

Terran, please re-post your comment on the original bug, and now that you've put something out there I'll also dig out my not quite complete version also.
