If a patron doesn't see the popup box for logging someone out after the timeout period has elapsed, and scans their next item, that triggers the logout option of the popup box.

This causes problems for patrons because if they are in the middle of scanning items, they may not see the popup or notice that they have been logged out.

It would be better if scanning a barcode kept the user logged in, and somehow captures the barcode that was scanned and continues with checkout.

We are also struggling with the timeout not being reset with a checkout, but I'm not sure if that is our kiosk browser or something else yet. So we may hit this more often than most.
