3.5.4 OPAC template HTML on page issue

All,

We've recently upgrade to 3.5.4 and found that the stock templates are causing HTML code to appear on the page. We've narrowed it down to this commit:

0126414321a6ba675122af68959f9664aacfc90c

1. Perform a search on the OPAC
2. Click a resulting bib
3. Scroll down to the subject line
4. Notice HTML code (see attached screenshot)
5. Revert the patch 0126414321a6ba675122af68959f9664aacfc90c
6. repeat steps 1-3
7. Issue resolved

This likely affects other branches of Evergreen.
