item bucket show status doesn't show all changes, missing status column

If this behavior is due to something I'm doing and not a bug, please let me know as it's the most confusing behavior I've come across in 3.5 so far.

bug 1735828 added "Show status" to Item buckets so you could do more edits than the options in the Item bucket, but I've encountered problems with how this version of Item Status behaves.

In 3.5 when you select "Show Status" to move items from an Item/Copy bucket to Item Status to get the additional options not available in the item bucket, the Item Status screen is missing the far left "Status" column that reflects the updates.

Choosing an option from the "Mark" section, when Item Status refreshes only some of the items show the edits even though all are edited. This is not consistent. Of 15 items sometimes 5 show the edit, sometime more.

As I was testing this another new wrinkle happened. When I moved 15 items to "Show Status" and selected all 15 to "Mark damaged" I got a popup showing one (1) barcode will be marked damaged. If I clicked cancel instead of closing the popup, it then displayed the next consecutive barcode so it took 15 clicks to close the popup. If I clicked "submit" instead of cancel, the popup went through the list of 15 also. If I selected some to submit and some to cancel the edits were made but Item Status did not refresh.

Choosing the option from the "Edit" section to "Edit call numbers and items" opens the Item Record screen. After clicking on Save & Exit the Item Record closes so you're back on Item Status, which does not refresh to show the changes even though they've been made.
