Another option would be to create a course reserves dropdown to the navigation menu. Christine Morgan at NOBLE has added this dropdown to NOBLE's training system as shown in the attached screenshot.

+1 to putting it in the top-level navbar, possibly with display conditioned on the library setting that enables the course reserves module.
