Bug Description

EG 3.3.4

No sound plays when an item alert pops up in the web client.

Our staff are used to a warning sound playing any time an exception to the normal check-in process happens, and in the XUL client a noise was played when an item alert popped up.

Branch on the way.

Josh

I tested this by trying to check in a barcode that didn't exist and it worked great. Thanks, Josh!

The alert for checking in a nonexistent barcode is a different event from what I understood this ticket to be about, namely the pop-up box with a message for a copy/item alert. An example would be to alert circ staff to the number of CDs that should be in an audiobook container when it is returned. I can't test, but can anyone confirm this branch works for this scenario?

Pushed to master, rel_3_5, and rel_3_4. Thanks, Josh and Terran!

Mary, I confirm that the patch does add the sound for the scenario you describe, which is indeed different from the barcode-not-found event.
