Serials - list of predictions gets really really long

Bug Description

In 3.1.2, the list of predictions for a particular subscription gets longer and longer and longer. It would be nice if these entries could be filtered by date, or if there were a way to archive the older entries (without losing them).

Noting that there are filters for various states (held/not held, expected, received, claimed, etc.) but I agree that date filters would be helpful.

We are on 3-4-6. There is a related bug that I have been noticing for quite a while. Sometimes I need to view the most recent issues, but I need to see them all, so I can't filter to expected, received, etc. There are 2 ways to navigate the issuances lists. There are << >> arrow buttons, to allow you to page forward (or back) to the next page of issuances, or there is a dropdown for Page, which allows you to chose page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100. You can also type a number for a page into a box on that dropdown and hit a button that says Go To...

Very often, the >> button grays out, as if there are no more pages, but there are still 1 or more pages of issuances left to be viewed, possibly many more. In this case your only recourse is to use the Page option to either choose one of the default page numbers, or type in a page number to Go To.

It can happen with the really really long lists of predictions, but it can happen with as few as 3 pages of issuances. There doesn't seem to be any set page count where it occurs.

I should have more clearly stated that this is the Serials Management Manage Issues tab. Also, we are now on 3-7-1, and I am still finding this to be the case.

I agree that it would be helpful to be able to filter predicted serial issuances by date or to be able to archive them. The existing filters are helpful, but they would be more so if they were sticky.

I encountered the issue mentioned in comment #2 regarding the graying out of the page navigation (">>") button, but only after applying a filter to the predicted issuances (e.g. to disply only issuances with a status of "expected."

Currently on 3-13-11. We are still encountering the problem I mention in comment #2. As in Beth's comment #3, the page navigation >> symbol grays out when a filter is applied and there are no more pages of issuances that match the filter, but the problem we are encountering is when the list is NOT filtered, and there ARE more pages of issuances available, but the page navigation symbol is grayed out and you can't page to the next page without choosing page number to navigate to. Unfortunately, this is a very random problem. It is good that it does not happen on every record, but I am sure that makes it harder to figure out what is causing it and fix it.

I was searching launchpad before submitting a bug about this problem with Manage Issues tab when I saw that I had already made these comments in the past. That's when I realized that Jane's bug description says the list of PREDICTIONS gets very long, and all our comments have been about handling the list of ISSUANCES. I do have a few titles that have MANY past prediction patterns on the Manage Predictions tab, so it is possible that she truly did mean the list on that tab gets too long, not the Manage issues tab.
