Angular datepicker/eg-date-select: text input should respect date.format

Bug Description

The Angular datepicker eg-date-select currently only accepts ISO dates in the text input box. It would be handy if it could accept input in the format specified by the date.format library setting, similar to what the AngularJS eg-date-input directive can do via setting uib-datepicker-popup.

At present, it looks like doing so will require writing a custom NgbDateParserFormatter.

Does the date picker mean calendar widget for selecting the date?

If so, we have discovered, that the Library Setting "Deprecated: Format Dates with this pattern" affect the date format used in the calendar widget. Using this setting we were able to set the format for the date of the DOB, patron permission expiration date, Checkout screen date option etc.
