Bug Description

Evergreen 3.1.7

Creator, Last Edit Date, and Last Editor are currently missing from the column pickers in the Copy Editor for both the Working Copies and Completed Copies tabs. This information can be found in the columns in Item Status but should be options in the copy editor as well.

These were part of the Identification column in the xul copy editor.

We would really like to see the all data elements from the Identification column in the Copy Editor in the XUL client be part of the display in both Edit and View screens: Creator, Creation Date, Active Date, Last Edit Date, Last Editor, in addition to being available in the column picker. This is basic information -- we care as much about who created or edited an item as we do the bib, and we have a lot more items and a lot more staff adding and editing items than bibs. I'm attaching a screenshot from XUL for reference.

I am glad this bug has been fixed, but. Isn't there always a but. On the working copies tab the space to display the information is so small that to me it seems beside the point that we can see the creator, last edit Date, and last editor because there is so little room to display all the choices. I think it would be more helpful to have these displayed in a column format like in xul. There is a lot of wasted white space on the item record screen.
Thanks for thinking about this.
Janet

will we have the option to view creator in item details or in the columns drop down so when we are in the holdings view we can see the creator of each added holding? Or is this another bug that I don't know about?

Holly, there is another bug for more columns options in Holdings View: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1761222

But it doesn't specify to add Creator. I agree that it should be there, though.

Janet, we liked the old XUL display with this information in a vertical column, but this at least gives us a way to make the information visible. And we think it's potentially more useful in the grid in Working Items when you're working with multiple items. Depending on what you're doing, you might not need all of those data elements, but if they are all in the column picker users can pick and choose depending on what they need to see.

In Release 3.3, the grid of working items moves from the left side of the screen to the bottom, below the item attributes, where you have to scroll down to see it but a wider display.

Elizabeth, Thanks for the screenshot. The wider display is a definite improvement. Having the column on the left took up too much screen real estate. We have some libraries that won't move cataloging to the web client because there was too much scrolling to see the item fields. Your screenshot doesn't show the holdings details, is it still above the item fields?
You also show additional stat cats. Does having additional ones change the layout of the item fields? I'm not sure if the fields are intended to be read horizontally (which makes more sense) or vertically (which seems jumbled).
I'm trying to figure out how easy the display would be to use/read if adding multiple items to a single library or to multiple branches.
