Web Client: Generate password does not pull from day phone

Web client, 3.0.13

When resetting an existing patron's password in the web client, clicking Generate Password inputs 4 random digits not the last 4 digits of the day phone.

This is different behavior than the XUL client, also version 3.0.13, where clicking Generate Password draws from the day phone.

The Library Setting "Patron: Password from phone #" is true for the consortia in both.

(In the web client > Register Patron the random password does update to the last 4 digits of the day phone as expected.)

I'm not able to confirm this.

We are on 3.0.2 with "Password from phone #" set to true, but the Generate Password generates a random number regardless of when it is clicked in both xul and web client. The only time we see the password come from the phone number is when the account is first created and the phone number is entered. This is what we expect it to do, and it has been our experience all along since prior to the web client release.

Weird. Resetting a password has always pulled the day phone last four digits for us. In the XUL, 3.0.13, it still does.

How strange. I've changed this back to "New" rather than incomplete, so perhaps someone more familiar with that part of the code can chime in.

I just tested this in XUL on the MassLNC community demo server and see the same behavior Terran described.The password is based on the last four digits of the phone number only after entering the phone number for a new patron.

Lindsay, is it possible your site has a local customization to generate a password based on the phone number when the button is clicked?
