Bug Description

Our goal: displaying lists of new items limited to a particular discipline within our relevant subject and course guides (using SubjectsPlus or Libguides software). This might be similar to the existing copyLocation and status filters.

Limiting one of supercat's RSS feeds would be great here. However, these cannot be limited to call number ranges, as far as I can tell. Call number ranges are preferable to subjects here, since call number ranges can be much more general (i.e. not all Biology books would have the same subject headings, but they would more or less all be within the same call number range; we would want all of these to be collocated when embedded in our Biology subject guide).

We could limit the results once we fetch the feed, but this is not preferable, since it fetches more data than necessary (making things slow for the user) and you can't really guess how many results will match and actually be ultimately showed to users (we could fetch 30 from supercat, but there's no guarantee that any of them would be about biology).

Limiting to call number regex would also work for our use case, although it's not as user-friendly for the librarians trying to embed these feeds within their guides. Call number ranges seem tricky, though, since different libraries have different classification schemes with different normalization rules.
