Unable to unassign a patron statistical category

If you create a patron statistical category with Allow Free Text off, and assign an entry from this stat cat to a patron, you are able to assign another entry from the same statistical category but you cannot set the entry to nothing. There's no blank entry in the drop-down list to choose from.

I can confirm that the patron statistical category cannot be set to nothing.

This is also true of the Default Hold Pickup Location field. Once set it cannot be set to nothing.

Still an issue in Evergreen 3.2. I'm also adding a reference to bug 1130389. Any fix to allow unsetting a stat cat should not reintroduce the blank stat cat entry issue reported in 1130389.

A patron stat cat entry can be cleared in 3.12.3 (also previously in 3.10, I don't remember earlier off hand). Allow Free Text is not enabled for the stat cats.

Click in the entry selection field to expand the list of values. At the top of the list is a very narrow sliver of space. If you mouse over it, it turns light grey. Click on it and the entry is cleared.

However. This results in a blank entry as in bug 1130389, and records with empty values continue to appear and be counted in reports by statistical category.

Lindsay, is it possible that you have a blank value entered for your stat cat?

I checked our live server (3.11.1) and the the EOLI 3.12.0 community demo server and I can't replicate what you see.

So TIL about blank stat cat entries! I had also referred this to our host support who pointed out the same thing, and yes, we definitely have blank stat cats. I will say they are much more obvious in the new stat cat editor interfaces than the old interface, and blank entries can not be created in 3.12. Individual entries still can't be deleted.
