Bug Description
Many of my libraries have simply disabled all audio cues altogether because as a complete group they are simply overwhelming on a busy desk. If they leave them on the warning and error klaxons don't always register in the cacophony. It would be more helpful if staff could pick and choose among the audio cues for their environment and that are helpful for their workflows rather than having just an on/off flag ("Disable sounds?") on the workstation.
Currently using EVG 3.1, but this has been an ongoing wish for several years.

Agreed we need to provide staff-facing settings for this, but in the meantime I just wanted to remind everyone it's possible for admins to disable individual sounds globally on the server. See the example in bug 1691860. In essence, you put a null audio file in just the right spot on the server. The browser console (or Apache logs) will show you what audio file the browser is trying to load for each situation.
