Bug Description

Web Client 3.0.0 & 3.0.3

If you have a volume with multiple copies attached and want to change the call number of one of these copies, there is no easy way to do that in the web client.

Even if you select only one copy, any updates to the volume line (i.e. call number) will update all copies attached to that volume.

Bug 1732201 (which seeks to restore the ability to create an empty volume) would allow a workaround for this issue. Currently the only workaround is a cumbersome process by which you create the new volume with a dummy copy, transfer the copy you wish to have the new volume/call number, and then delete the dummy copy.

Marking confirmed as this was initially reported by Angela Kilsdonk and confirmed by me.

re: XUL client, you can also change the owning library in the Item Attribute Editor and effectively move just that item to a new or existing call number.

Marking as a duplicate of the cataloging omnibus bug since the underlying regression was fixed there.
