Bug Description

This is something mentioned by the cataloging staff here as a nice-to-have, described as a step-by-step process:

1) Search the catalog for items by author, title, series, etc.
2) Have a checkbox next to each result that can be selected.
3) Click a button to create an item/record bucket containing those items.

Example: All Dav Pilkey "Captain Underpants" novels are being changed to being shelved as juvenile rather than easy; cataloger searches "Pilkey", selects the Captain Underpants titles, and creates a bucket to work with directly from the catalog.

I have no idea if this is even feasible, but wanted to put it out there.

S.

Hi Sam!

MassLNC has contracted with Equinox for a project where users can select titles on the search results page and add them to a list, place a hold, print/email, or (for staff), add them to a record bucket. I believe the tech specs are going to be posted in LP soon.

The new basket functionality is great but it would nice to be able to use baskets to add the items attached to the selected records to an item bucket.

Potentially this could be done by having a way to choose record or item bucket on the pop up when the Add Basket to Bucket is used (maybe having item and record tabs>) It also might be possible to add a second basket option to basket menu and specifying records/item bucket in the option.

What would be the best way to indicate which items you want from the bib record?

Preferred Library? I think this would be the best option since you could easily change it under search preferences. If you choose the system, rather than the branch here would you be able to select all items at all system libraries?

Workstation library? If this is the option, then you would have to sign on to a different workstation to choose copies from different branches. Unless you used a system focused workstation which might select all items in all system libraries?

Something else?

I agree that probably that the best option would be whatever you had set as the Preferred System/Branch at the time of the search - I don't fully understand the mechanics of that though!
